Settlement Hill Design is also the home of the Settlement Hill Farm. This farmstead is one of the few remaining farms that were established by the Original German Settlers who came to the Hudson Area to settle the land back in 1853. The original barn built in 1854 burned down on Easter Sunday in 1929 and rebuilt upon its old foundation is a beautiful gambrel roofed barn which has been lovingly maintained so that many generations to come can continue to enjoy this peaceful rural setting. Settlement Hill Design host a public barn dance every fall for the German Settlement Heritage Society. Offered is a German Bratwurst dinner followed with a dance. Country Music by the group Mike & Ed. All funds go to the restoration and preservation of the German Settlement Neighborhood.
